Ingredients:
2 cups self-rising flour
1 stick butter
1 cup buttermilk
Directions:
1) Place butter in freezer for about 15 minutes or so.
2) Preheat oven to 420 degrees.
3) Add flour into mixing bowl.
4) Grate entire stick of butter into flour.
5) Mix flour and butter with hands. Make sure every piece of butter is covered in flour. Use your fingertips to gently squeeze together the butter and flour. The
butter needs to stay whole.
6) Add buttermilk. Mix together until homogenous. There will still be scraggly pieces.
7) Dump onto floured surface. Push together dough and scraggly pieces until it forms a nice dough. Fold. Pat out dough. Fold over. Continue a few more times. This creates layers.
8) Cut with biscuit cutter (or a cup) and place onto a buttered (or parchment paper covered) cookie sheet or cast iron skillet. Biscuits should be touching.
9) Bake at 420 degrees for 20 minutes.
10) Serve and ENJOY!
